WHITEHALL DIG FOR VICTORY WEEKEND!
The weather was not kind to us once again. But otherwise a few did venture out and i mean a few.
There was supposed to be 30 vehicles booked in. But 12 made the effort. Not much for the troops
to do in the day. Except the young ladies doing some dance lessons. Which was okay if you could hear what they were saying as the music was a little bit on the loud side.
Normally when you attend these 1940”s events you get into the dance for free especially when you give up your spare time for free and with the price of fuel! If it was not for people like those that had the curtesy to show up then there would not be a show!! The dance on the evening was well attended. But can not recall the mavericks having a hit in 1940! For those who attended well done!
THE 2008 OLDLAND SHOW!
The weather was very kind to us for a change. A big thank you to dennis for making us feel very welcome another volenteer at the oldland show.. The guys there had a tough time with vehicles getting stuck in the mud. But we never had any problems. A big thank you to john weeden for the use of his tent for the girls to make tea and coffee. There was plenty of charity stalls and a variety
of food vans. A nice selection of classic cars and motor bikes and tractors. The wrestlers were
very good and the kids had great fun watching them. The band was very good in there party tent as there normal abode was one of the vehicles removed just in case it got stuck in the mud..
A great day had by all...
